This Privacy Policy describes how Savvy Insurance Solutions, LLC (collectively, “Savvy,” “We,” “we,” “us,” “ourselves,” or “our”) policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information and personal data as defined by applicable law (referred to as “Personal Information”), including, but not limited to, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020) (collectively, the “CCPA”) and the consumer privacy laws enacted in Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon (effective July 1, 2024), Texas, Utah and Virginia, and other consumer privacy laws enacted and effective after the date of this Privacy Policy (collective “U.S. State Privacy Laws”) when visitors and customers (collectively “Users”) access, use, or otherwise interact with savvy.insure (the “Site”) and the software and services made available through the Site (collectively, the “Services”).

Please read this Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we treat it. By interacting with our Services or optionally providing us with your Personal Information, you acknowledge and agree to the collection, use and sharing of your Personal Information and the disclosure practices identified in this Privacy Policy as permitted by applicable law. As noted in Section 9 below, this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of the Services after we make changes as described here is deemed to be an acceptance of those changes, so please check the Policy periodically for updates.

Section 9 is intended to provide the Notice at Collection required under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

1. Personal Information Collected by Savvy

  • Non-Public Information. Savvy collects non-public personally identifiable information ("NPI"), which is information that identifies you and is not available to the public to supplement information with regard to offers, quotes or application for insurance products and services.
  • Application, Account and Contact Information. To obtain offers for you, Savvy may collect your name, home address, phone number, email address, social security number, driver’s license, date of birth, marital status, username and/or any other contact information identifier we may use to contact you online or offline. Savvy will utilize email and/or phone numbers to communicate with you regarding offers, quotes or applications for insurance products and services.
  • Payment Information. To make payments for the insurance products and services, Savvy may collect debit or credit card account information, email and other information to verify your identity, such as name, address, telephone number, and/or date of birth. Savvy does not itself store debit or credit card information on its servers, but utilizes a secure vault service to benefit the security of your personal payment information.
  • Transactional Information. Savvy may receive information about your account history, including information about your account, transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, including your insurance coverage, limits and rates, purchases, discounts and other payment and claims history. It also includes information that we require for billing and payment.
  • Information Obtained from Government Databases and Agencies, our Service Providers and Other Third Parties. Savvy may obtain aggregated public records from third parties, such as data brokers and government agencies, in order to market and/or provide services to our customers. Savvy may receive Personal Information from consumer reporting agencies, which provide us with motor vehicle reports, real property records, claim reports, and/or credit information where permitted by law. Such information is used for prefill of an insurance application, or generation of an estimated premium cost for insurance for marketing purposes and you will have the opportunity to review and correct any incorrect or inaccurate data contained within that application.
  • Usage Data/Device Information. Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Services. Usage Data may include information such as your IP Address, device identifiers, operating system and version, preferred language, hardware identifiers, browser type, browser version and settings, and other unique device information and diagnostic data.
  • IP Address. A user’s IP Address is identified and logged automatically in our server log files whenever you visit the Platform, along with the time of the visit and the page(s) that were visited. Savvy uses IP Addresses for calculating usage levels of the Site, helping diagnose server problems, and administering the Site and Services. We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Services or when you access the Services by or through a mobile device.
  • Web Beacons. Pages of our Site and/or emails from Savvy may contain small electronic files known as “web beacons,” “tags,” or “pixels” that permit Savvy, for example, to count Users who have visited those pages or parts of pages or opened an email and for other related Site statistics (including recording the popularity of certain content and verifying system and server integrity), and used to record information about how you browse the Site. To the extent any of these automated technologies are considered a sale of Personal Information, targeted advertising, or profiling under applicable laws, depending on where you live, you may opt-out from use of these automated technologies. Web Beacons are used to analyze trends, manage the website, enhance user experience, monitor how visitors navigate the website, and gather demographic information about users.
  • Cookies. The Site uses cookies to provide users with a better browsing experience. Cookies are files with a small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Some cookies are set by us and some are set by other companies we partner with (third party cookie providers). Our Site uses cookies for:
    • Necessary site functionality/essential cookies
    • Analytics and performance tracking
    • Advertising and marketing
    You can refuse to accept or disable cookie preferences by activating the appropriate cookie settings tool in your web browser settings, or through the information provided below. Please note, however, some Site features may not work properly.

    How You Can Control Cookies/How You Can Opt-Out of Interest-Based Advertising. We may use third party providers to help us provide advertisements to you that are tailored to you based on your interests (“Interest-Based Ads”). Any tracking done by third party ad partners through cookies and other mechanisms are subject to those parties’ own privacy policies, as follows:

    Even if you opt-out of cookies/ads personalization, you may still see ads based on factors such as your general location derived from your IP address, your browser type, and your search terms. Most web browsers also give you some control over what cookies are stored. The way to exercise your preferences is different for each browser. You can also manage cookies for any online advertising service via the consumer choice tools created under self-regulation programs, such as the US-based aboutads.info choices page, the Network Advertising Consumer Opt-Out and/or the Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out.

2. Purpose of Collection

Provide Savvy Services. We may use and disclose the Personal Information we collect to advance the Company’s business and commercial purposes and facilitate the provision of the Services on the Site, specifically to:

  • Provide, maintain, operate, and improve the Site, the Services and any contents, features, information, products, customer relationships or experiences, or Services that we make available through the Services;
  • Process, fulfill and manage your account and requests for products and services, such as insurance offer comparison;
  • Process purchases, orders, payments and complete transactions;
  • Communicate with you regarding our products and services, including providing you with news or notices about your account, including expiration and renewal notices;
  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support and feedback;
  • Promote our Services, business, and offerings by publishing advertising on our own Services, placing ads on third parties’ services, and sending marketing communications with offers for products offered by Savvy. We may use your information to model, segment; target, offer, market, and advertise our Services;
  • Share with marketing partners, including partners who may independently market insurance products in the same category. These partners may use the information to send promotional communications or display targeted advertising. You may opt out of these communications as described in our Your Choices / Opt-Out section.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate security incidents that compromise the availability, authenticity, integrity or confidentiality of stored or transmitted Personal Information or any other Savvy data;
  • Protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity directed at Savvy, or prosecute those responsible for that activity;
  • Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality;
  • Administer our systems and conduct internal operations, including for troubleshooting purposes;
  • Analyze Personal Information to assess, understand and improve the Services and personalize User experiences, including the creation of anonymized aggregated, statistical and benchmark data, to research, develop, maintain, analyze, improve, optimize, measure and report on our Services and their features and how Users interact with them. Aggregated data is utilized to help develop and market products or services and present targeted content and advertising;
  • Enable functionality of the Services to authenticate a user, prevent fraud, and implement security measures;
  • For the performance of a contract: the development, compliance and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items or services you have purchased or of any other contract with Us through the Services;
  • For the performance of a contract or to carry out or meet our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collections, or comply with legal requirements;
  • Notify you when updates to the Services are available and about changes to any products or Services we offer or provide through them;
  • Undertake activities to verify or maintain the quality of a service or product that is developed or provided, and to improve, upgrade, or enhance any marketing, service or product that is developed or provided by Savvy;
  • Protect our Company, employees, or operations;
  • Engage in corporate transactions requiring review of consumer records, such as for evaluating potential Company mergers and acquisitions;
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
  • Respond to law enforcement requests and as required by applicable law or court order;
  • In any other way we may describe when you provide the information; and
  • For any other purpose with your consent.

Offer Comparison Services' Partners. By connecting Savvy with your insurance provider, you are requesting and authorizing Savvy to disclose NPI within your insurance policy, as well as related terms and rates, to third party insurers, insurance agency partners, and consumer report services to generate and calculate accurate quotes. Information will be shared with those partners you affirmatively select for the specific purpose of facilitating shopping and/or comparison services expressly requested by you, except to the extent a state resident has opted out in accordance with Section 9.B., with insurance marketing partners to the extent permitted by third party carriers and applicable law.

SMS Notifications – Notice & Consent. Savvy utilizes Service Providers to enable SMS notifications. SMS/text messages will be sent subject to your prior express written consent to receive recurring text messages relating to the Services at the mobile number associated with your account or otherwise provided to Savvy. By providing consent to Savvy’s SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Savvy through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided, even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt-out or HELP for info. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Information collected from SMS will not be shared, sold, rented, or exchanged for purposes other than those specific to the insurance comparison services you have requested.

3. Sharing with Service Providers, Contractors, Insurance Marketing Partners and Other Third Parties

Savvy has engaged with certain contractors, service providers, insurance marketing partners, processors and third party entities who provide consumer data to help complete insurance quote requests, AI agents for lead generation purposes and to support the provision of the Site and Services (“Service Provider”) to facilitate the Services and operate our business, including without limitation, database management, hosting, information technology, email/SMS delivery, manual or automated phone calls, customer support, analytics, and data security and compliance services necessary to provide the Services. For each such Service Provider, Savvy will have in place written contracts that describes the purpose of the Service and disclosure of Personal Information, and requires the Service Providers to both keep the Personal Information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the Services pursuant to such contract.

AI-Enabled Service Providers. We may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies, to help provide and improve our Services, personalize your experience, and analyze trends and data. In connection with AI services, we collect Personal Information from Users and share it with third party AI subprocessors, including:

  • Twilio, OpenAI, Segment, Datadog, TransUnion, ATTOM to power features like conversational support, analytics, credit/claims verification, and virtual routing; and
  • Dasha AI and Onscript AI to enhance our voice and transcription capabilities to provide customer support, automate intake, and to transcribe and analyze conversations; and
  • Other third party service providers for quality assurance purposes.

Where profile-based or automated decisions are made (e.g., eligibility or support triage), we include a human reviewer, provide plain-language explanations of logic and outcomes, and allow consumers to correct or delete data used. Consumers in states such as California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, Maryland, and Indiana have the right to access, correct, delete, port their data, and opt-out of the sale or profiling of their data, as applicable.

Compliance with Laws and Data Protection. In addition, Personal Information may be disclosed to serve our legitimate business interests including:

  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, respond to a court order, subpoena or a government request (such as a search warrant, or similar legal process) for which we will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify you about law enforcement or court ordered requests for data, unless otherwise prohibited by law.
  • If Savvy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets to transfer or assign your Personal Information as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control.
  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies.
  • Enforcing our agreements and policies against you, including for billing purposes.
  • Investigate and defend ourselves against any third party claims or allegations.
  • To third party business partners at your direction, if you access or request contact from the third party business partners through the Services or Platform.

4. Personal Information of Minors

Savvy does not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete such information in accordance with applicable law.

If a parent or legal guardian believes that their child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Information to Savvy without consent, they may contact us at legal-notices@savvy.insure. Upon verification, Savvy will delete such information from our records within a commercially reasonable time and no later than required by applicable law.

5. Retention and Deletion of Personal Information; De-Identified Data

Unless erasure is otherwise required under applicable law or as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, Savvy will retain Personal Information for as long as it is reasonably necessary to fulfill the transactions you have requested or legitimate business purposes described herein or for as otherwise legally permitted or required, such as retaining the Services, operating our Company, complying with our legal obligations under United States federal, state and local laws, resolving disputes, and for safety, security, and fraud prevention, but not exceeding the maximum retention period prescribed by applicable privacy laws and regulations. The criteria used to determine the length of our retention periods varies based on the nature of the information, the purposes for processing, potential risks of harm, and our legal and business requirements. Personal Information obtained from Users will be maintained as long as it is necessary to provide requested communications and information-based services or until a User exercises the right to opt-out of requested communications or information-based services. Anonymized and pseudo-anonymized data will be retained for as long as Savvy determines such data is necessary for its legitimate business interests, but not longer than permitted under applicable data privacy laws.

At the end of the retention period, Personal Information will be deleted, destroyed, or de-identified at Savvy’s sole discretion and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. To the extent Savvy de-identifies any Personal Information, Savvy shall maintain and use such de-identified data without attempting to re-identify such data.

6. How We Protect Your Personal Data

We have implemented appropriate administrative, technical and physical security measures in accordance with industry standards and applicable laws and regulations to protect Personal Information against unauthorized access, destruction or alteration. However, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for Personal Information we process and maintain, no security system can ever be 100% secure.

7. Response To “Do Not Track” Signals

“Do Not Track” (“DNT”) is a feature enabled on some browsers that sends a signal to the online services you visit indicating you request that a website disable its tracking or cross-website user tracking. Because there is not a common understanding of how to interpret the “DNT” signal, our Services may not respond to all browser DNT signals. Instead, you can use the range of other tools to control data collection and use, including the cookie controls and advertising controls described in this Policy.

Savvy shall treat any user-enabled global privacy controls, such as a browser plug-in or privacy setting, device setting, or other mechanism, that communicates or signals the consumer’s choice to opt-out of the sale of their Personal Information as a valid request submitted pursuant to the CCPA for that browser or device, or, if known, for the consumer.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change or update this Policy from time to time, and we will provide notice of any such changes to the Policy as required by applicable law. The date this Policy was last updated is identified at the top of the page. If we make any material changes to our Policy, we will notify you by (i) changing the “Last Updated” date at the top of the Policy and posting the updated Policy on the Services, (ii) sending account email notices or other reminders about this Policy, or (iii) adding a banner/notification to the Site itself. However, you should check our Services periodically to see the current Policy and any changes we have made to it.

9. Supplemental CCPA and U.S. State Privacy Laws Notices - Notice at Collection

This supplemental notice sets forth the disclosures and rights applicable to U.S. residents residing in states which have U.S. Privacy Laws, including, but not limited to, the CCPA, and other state residents to the extent other state consumer privacy laws are implemented following the last effective update to this Privacy Policy.

This Notice at Collection and related consumer rights under this Section 9 does not apply to information that is exempt from the CCPA and other U.S. State Privacy Laws, including with respect to NPI collected with respect to Savvy or its affiliate’s offer of insurance products to consumers, which is governed by its obligations pursuant to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (“GLBA”).

  1. Notice of Collection: Savvy collects, uses and discloses, and in the preceding 12 months has collected, used and or disclosed, Personal Information as follows:

    Categories of Personal Information: Savvy collects, and has collected over the last 12 months, Personal Information with respect to the following categories:

    • Identifiers, including full name, postal address, unique personal identifiers, email address, account username and password, telephone number, insurance policy number, account name, social security number, gender, driver's license number, and other similar identifiers.
    • Driving and claims history, including information about any prior accidents or insurance claims.
    • Vehicle information, such as a vehicle identification number (VIN), vehicle details, including any customizations, and vehicle photos.
    • Real Property records;
    • Financial identifiers, such as a bank account number, credit card number, debit card number, or other financial information.
    • Medical information contained within your insurance policy file.
    • Protected classification characteristics under California or federal law such as age, marital status and gender..
    • Commercial information such as records of products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies.
    • Internet or other similar network activity. Examples: Site usage and device information, such as search and browsing history, online identifier(s), Internet Protocol address, search history, and information regarding how users interact with our Site and online advertisements.
    • Sensitive Information such as precise geolocation, race or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, genetic data, and biometric information.

    Sources of Collection: Savvy collects each of the above categories from a variety of sources, including:

    • Directly from Users (either online, by phone, or by email);
    • Indirectly from Users;
    • Automatically from You (i.e., through Cookies or other Usage Data); or
    • From Service Providers with your consent (including data brokers, analytics providers, credit reporting agencies, public records, social networks, advertising and marketing partners, and insurance agents, brokers and other providers).

    Purpose of Collection and Disclosure: Savvy collects each of the above categories of information for purposes of:

    • Performing services, including providing quotes for insurance, processing applications. providing customer service, processing payments, providing advertising or marketing services, providing analytics services, or providing similar services;
    • Auditing related to a current interaction with you and concurrent transactions, including, but not limited to, counting ad impressions to unique visitors, verifying positioning and quality of ad impressions, and auditing compliance;
    • Communications with you regarding products and services offered by Savvy and its partners.
    • To assess and improve our product and service offerings, including the development of new products and services.
    • Short-term, transient use, including, but not limited to, the contextual customization of ads shown as part of the same interaction;
    • Detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecuting those responsible for that activity.

    Categories and Purposes of Disclosure: Savvy discloses the above categories of Personal Information to:

    • Service providers that assist us in providing insurance-related services;
    • Service providers involved in our verification, data-processing, risk-assessment, security and anti-fraud efforts;
    • Insurance providers for purposes of offering quotes and information regarding insurance products and services;
    • Third party advertising and marketing partners;
    • State insurance departments and other regulatory authorities.

    Other Potential Third Party Disclosures: Personal Information may be disclosed to serve our legitimate business interests including:

    • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, respond to a court order, subpoena or a government request, such as a search warrant, or similar legal process, for which we will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify you about law enforcement or court ordered requests for data, unless otherwise prohibited by law.
      • If Savvy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets to transfer or assign your Personal Information as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control.
      • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies.
    • Enforcing our agreements and policies, including for billing purposes.
    • Investigating and defending Savvy against any third party claims.
    • To third party business partners at your direction, if you access or request contact from the third party business partners through the Services or Site.
  2. Sale of Personal Information; Sharing of Personal Information; Right to Opt-Out

    In the last 12 months, Savvy has shared, with your express consent, certain personal information pursuant to a request for a rate comparison for insurance product(s). Savvy may receive a fee for the transfer of that data and/or if the visitor purchases a product or service from Savvy’s insurance partners.

    In addition, in the last 12 months, Savvy has shared personal information necessary to provide you with personalized ads. This may be considered a “sale,” under the CCPA even if no money is exchanged.

    Savvy may share Personal Information with third parties, including marketing partners, for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes, including the promotion of Savvy’s insurance products and the conduct of independent marketing campaigns by such partners within the same insurance product category.

    To the extent Savvy is regarded as “selling” your Personal Information (as the terms “sell,” “selling,” “sale,” “sharing,” or “sold” are defined under the CCPA), you have the right to opt-out of that “sale” on a going-forward basis at any time.

    Certain state residents have a right to opt-out from the “sale” or “sharing” (as those terms are defined by applicable laws) of your Personal Information with third parties who are not our Service Providers (and/or to opt-out of cross-context behavioral advertising). To exercise this right, click the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link on the bottom of the Site page where your information is being collected or go to your account settings. There are also several exceptions where we may not have an obligation to fulfill your request. You can also submit a request to opt-out by emailing us at legal-notices@savvy.insure with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.” Finally, some browsers and browser extensions support Global Privacy Control that can send a signal to process your request to opt-out from certain types of data processing, including the “sale” or “sharing” of your Personal Information as defined under certain laws. When we detect such a signal, we will make reasonable efforts to respect your choices indicated by a GPC setting as required by applicable law.

  3. Collection of Sensitive Information

    Savvy does not collect Sensitive Information for purposes other than as permitted under the CCPA and GLBA.

  4. Consumer Rights. Consumers may contact Savvy to exercise the following consumer rights:

    1. Request Savvy Disclose At No Charge (“Right to Know”):

      • Specific pieces of Personal Information it has collected about you;
      • categories of Personal Information collected, used, and/or disclosed about you;
      • categories of sources from which Personal Information is collected;
      • business and/or commercial purposes for collecting and disclosing your Personal Information;
      • categories of third parties with whom your Personal Information has been disclosed/shared; and

      Right to Know Requests can be submitted to Savvy by email at legal-notices@savvy.insure.

    2. Request Savvy to Delete At No Charge (“Right to Delete”):

      Deletion Requests can be submitted to Savvy by email at legal-notices@savvy.insure or by mail to Savvy at: Savvy Insurance Solutions, LLC, Attention: Privacy Request to Delete, 2093 Philadelphia Pike #7288, Claymont, DE 19703.

    3. Request Savvy Correct At No Charge (“Right to Correct”):

      Requests that Savvy correct any inaccurate Personal Information collected by Savvy can be submitted by email to legal-notices@savvy.insure.

  5. Verified Request Process/Authorized Agents

    Savvy will verify all consumer requests prior to taking any action in response to such request. For consumers that maintain an account with Savvy, it may verify the identity of the consumer making the request by either matching information with the account information on file or through existing account authentication credentials.

    Under the CCPA and applicable U.S. State Privacy Laws, you may exercise these rights yourself or you may designate an authorized agent to make these requests on your behalf. Authorized agents must demonstrate they have written authorization from you to make requests on your behalf. Savvy may additionally require the relevant consumer to directly verify the identity and authority of the authorized agent before complying with any request.

  6. Consumer Request Limitations

    Please note that these rights are not absolute and in certain cases are subject to conditions or limitations as specified in the applicable U.S. Privacy Laws, including, but not limited to:

    • Savvy is obligated to disclose/delete Personal Information only upon a verifiable Consumer request from the consumer or an authorized agent acting on behalf of Consumer.
    • Consumers may only make a Personal Information request twice in a 12-month period.
    • Deletion is not required if it is necessary for Savvy to maintain the Personal Information to fulfill applicable permissible purposes enumerated pursuant to applicable state law.

    Savvy will confirm and respond to all requests within the timeframe required under applicable state law. In responding to any request to disclose/delete, Savvy shall maintain a record of the requests as required under applicable U.S. Privacy Laws.

  7. Non-Discrimination Policy

    You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any rights conferred by the CCPA and applicable U.S. State Privacy Laws. Savvy shall not discriminate against a consumer for exercising any statutory consumer privacy rights, including, but not limited to, (a) denying goods or services, (b) charging different prices or rates (including discounts/penalties) that is not directly related to the value provided to Savvy for the Personal Information, (c) suggesting Consumer will receive a different rate/price or different level of quality of goods/services, or (d) providing a different level of quality of goods/services.

    Employees, applicants and independent contractors have the right not to be retaliated against for the exercise of their CCPA rights.

  8. Right to Appeal

10. Your California Privacy Rights under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 & Business and Professions Code Section 22581

California law permits Consumers to request and obtain from Savvy once a year, free of charge, certain information about their Personal Information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year (if any).
